Our Story

Our journey began in 2007 when MEF approached Edmonton Public Schools to explore learning options for Muslim homeschoolers. We collaborated with an eight-week program entitled “Doorways to Islamic Civilization”, which was warmly welcomed and well attended by the Muslim community. This led to an on-site enrichment program at Argyll Center for Home Education, followed by a two-year pilot program.

On March 23, 2010, the Board of Trustees approved Sakinah Circle as a KG – Gr. 6 alternative program in EPS. Sakinah Circle started at Grace Martin School in the 2010-2011 school year.
