Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We realize that this is late in coming, but still want to let you know about Sakinah Time in December.
Grade-Specific Highlights
Kindergarten
• Introduced to the story of the Prophet’s ﷺ childhood and his family.
• Learned about the five pillars of Islam in a simple and engaging way.
Grades 1 & 2
• Learned about the childhood of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, focusing on his parents, wet nurse, grandfather, and uncle.
• Heard the story of the miraculous event of the Prophet’s ﷺ chest being opened and cleansed by angels.
• Discussed the five pillars of Islam, with special emphasis on the first pillar, Shahadah.
Grade 3
• Reviewed key lessons and stories from the Prophet’s ﷺ life, including his childhood and family.
• Explored the foundational pillars of Islam and their significance in daily life.
Grade 4
• Watched a video about the Prophet’s ﷺ life, focusing on the miraculous event of his chest being opened and cleansed.
• Discussed the life of Khadijah (RA), the beloved wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and her support for him.
• Talked about the importance of inner and outer cleanliness as part of our faith and way of life.
Grades 5 & 6
• Reviewed previous lessons to reinforce understanding.
• Discussed topics such as Taqwa (God-consciousness) and its importance in the heart.
• Learned about the five pillars of Islam and their role in shaping our lives.
• Explored Taqwa, emphasizing its connection to the heart and reflecting on the hadith: "التقوى ها هنا"

Addressing Contemporary Issues
We discussed a sensitive topic with older students, about the Islamic perspective on celebrating non-Islamic holidays like Christmas. This discussions was held with care and aimed to help students understand the importance of adhering to Islamic values while respecting others' beliefs.
How Families Can Support at Home
Discuss the Stories
• Ask your child to share what they learned about the childhood of the Prophet ﷺ and his family.
• Reflect together on the values of resilience, gratitude, and faith displayed in his life.
Encourage Questions and Conversations
• Create a space for your child to ask questions about Islamic values, Taqwa, and the five pillars of Islam.
• Share personal experiences or family traditions that highlight the importance of these concepts.
Promote Practice at Home
• Encourage acts of kindness, cleanliness, and gratitude in daily life.
• Help them practice the first pillar, Shahadah, by discussing its meaning and importance as a family.
