Dear Sakinah families
As-salamu alaykum on this blessed day of the week, when the air is filled with anticipation of a new school year, a new beginning, a new step in the journey of learning.
The 2024-25 school year brings hope and promise with another new beginning in Sakinah Circle.
Our theme for the year is Beginnings.
Our journey together has a new beginning in many respects.
Jennifer Williams, our new principal, comes with a lot of enthusiasm and a vision for re-anchoring Sakinah learning in its three pedagogical principles: nature-focused, historically-rooted and service oriented.
We are embarking on two new initiatives: the Sakinah Resource Bank and establishment of Implementation Standards. Sakinah Resource Bank will be a unique repository of classroom-ready units, especially developed to deliver Alberta Program of Learning from the Qur’anic worldview. This is the raison d’etre of Sakinah Circle, and these resources will also be available to teachers throughout Edmonton Public Schools.
Sakinah Time is embarking on its second year of new curriculum. You can find the link at https://sakinahcircle.com/sakinah-time and use it to guide and enrich your children’s learning at home.
