بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

السلام عليكم ورحمه الله وبركاته

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.  It is our pleasure to share with you the key topics and activities we covered with our students throughout the month of November. This month, we focused on enriching the students' understanding of Islamic history, values and manners, fostering a love for our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and reinforcing core principles of faith.

Kindergarten

•  Introduced the concept of being a Muslim and the beauty of our religion, Islam.

•  Learned Adhkar related to daily life and practiced them together.

•  Discussed the story of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), focusing on his childhood and the love and care he received from his family.

•  Studied the Hadith: “Cleanliness is half of faith” (Sahih Muslim) and applied it practically by learning about personal hygiene and cleanliness in daily life.

Grade 1

•  Learned about the childhood of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), including the love shown to him by his grandfather and uncle after he became an orphan.

•  Explored the miracles of his life, such as the "Open Chest Miracle," and reflected on Allah's special care for His Messenger.

•  Practiced a new Du’aa:

“يا حي يا قيوم برحمتك أستغيث، أصلح لي شأني كله، ولا تكلني إلى نفسي طرفة عين”

Translation: “O Ever Living One, O Sustainer of all, by Your mercy I call on You to set right all my affairs. Do not place me in charge of my soul even for the blinking of an eye.”

•  Reinforced the Hadith: “Cleanliness is half of faith” by emphasizing practical examples such as brushing teeth, maintaining Wudhu, and tidying personal spaces.

Grades 2 & 3

•  Discussed the Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) truthful and honest nature, his early life with Halima Al-Sa’diyah, and why children were sent to the desert for learning pure Arabic and breathing clean air.

•  Explored Surah Al-Kafirun and its lessons about worship, explaining the Prophet’s (ﷺ) unwavering faith despite challenges.

•  Learned the names of Allah: Al-Rahman (The Most Merciful to all) and Al-Raheem (The Especially Merciful to the faithful) through examples of Allah’s mercy in our lives.

•  Studied the Battle of Mu’tah, focusing on the bravery of the companions like Khalid ibn Al-Waleed, Zaid ibn Harithah, Ja’far ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Rawaha, who chose martyrdom for Jannah.

Grades 4, 5 & 6

•  Explored the significance of Surah Al-Kafirun and its emphasis on sincere worship of Allah alone.

•  Delved deeply into the Battle of Mu’tah, highlighting the courage of the Muslim army and Khalid ibn Al-Waleed’s role as “Saif-ul-Islam” (The Sword of Islam).

•  Reflected on the story of the Prophet Muhammad’s (ﷺ) early life, from his birth to his marriage to Khadijah (RA), emphasizing the lessons of perseverance and trust in Allah.

•  Reinforced the Du’aa:
يا حي يا قيوم برحمتك أستغيث، أصلح لي شأني كله، ولا تكلني إلى نفسي طرفة عين”
and encouraged students to use it in moments of difficulty, and to call upon Allah using His beautiful names.

Reflections

•  Student Engagement:
Students showed great enthusiasm for stories about the Prophet (ﷺ) and Islamic history.  They asked insightful questions and displayed curiosity about the lessons.

•  Spiritual Growth:
The Du’aa practice has become a meaningful part of assemblies, and students are beginning to incorporate it into their personal lives.

•  Character Building:
Through the lessons on cleanliness, mercy and honesty, students demonstrated a better understanding of how these values can shape their behavior both in and outside the classroom.

How You Can Support at Home

To strengthen your child's learning, we recommend the following:

  1. Reinforce Du’aa Practice: Encourage your child to recite the new Du’aa taught this month, especially during moments of challenge.

  2. Discuss Prophetic Stories: Engage in conversations about the stories of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his companions, focusing on lessons of honesty, mercy and courage.

  3. Encourage Cleanliness: Highlight the Hadith “Cleanliness is half of faith” and support them in implementing cleanliness at home and in personal hygiene.

  4. Memorize Surahs: Support your child in memorizing Surah Al-Kafirun and understanding its meaning.

  5. Talk About Islamic Battles: Discuss the bravery and sacrifices made during the Battle of Mu’tah, fostering an appreciation for Islamic history and values.

Thank you for your continued involvement in your child’s education and for working together to nurture their Islamic values.  If you have any questions or need further guidance, please feel free to reach out to us at sakinahtime24@gmail.com.
