Water was our theme for the 2019-20 school year, a year of online learning during the pandemic when students and teachers all worked from home. The culminating celebration of learning “Wonders of Water” was also online – the video talks about how water is essential for life and includes stories about water in the lives of Prophets Nuh, Yunus, and Musa, peace be upon them all.
The Water Poster shows how we integrated the water theme throughout the curriculum. In the poster, raindrops coming down from the top bring ways in which water is mentioned in the Qur’an, such as signs of divine mercy, wisdom, and power. The rain falls into the waves, which name topics and learning experiences in the different subject areas.
“Why is water so special?” The first image in the slideshow for young children begins with “Every living creature is created from water.”
